Jesus is the ultimate example of servant-leadership. In just one example in the New Testament, we observe the annointed King, the eternal Son of God, the blessed Lord washing the feet of His disciples - a task reserved for the lowest of the low. In this story Jesus gives us a humble example of servant-leadership to follow.
Saved people serve people
MissionServe is an essential ministry of Mission Community Church as we strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus in this local community. Current partnerships and serving opportunities include The Bridge Academy & Community Center (Coatesville, PA), Camp at Old Mill (Honey Brook, PA), East Ward Elementary School (Downingtown, PA), Chester County Women's Services (Coatesville, Kennett Square, and West Chester), and others. Serving the community is a great way to grow in your relationship with others and in your personal relationship with God.
Additionally, serving within the community of faith is another great way to connect with people and grow in your faith. Whether serving on Sunday mornings on one of our production teams or MissionKids ministry, leading a MissionGroup, or countless other opportunties, our serving is helping people meet, know, and follow Jesus.
This year's Christmas Gift Drive benefits a local partner, the Bridge Academy and Community Center (BACC)! The BACC is a ministry in Coatesville with the mission of equipping youth and families with the tools necessary for academic achievement, life skills, creative expression, spiritual growth, and leadership. The Christmas Gift Drive allows the BACC to continue building relationships with the children and families of Coatesville as the BACC demonstrates the love of Jesus in that community. We will be collecting wrapped and addressed gifts at East Ward Elementary School on Sunday, December 2 and 9.
We are also asking for volunteers to help serve at the BACC Christmas Celebration Dinner on Saturday, December 15, from 6-8pm, which will provide a time of celebration for the the families of the BACC with food, fun, and festivities. Please mark your calendars as more information is to follow regarding the details of the event.
