SERVING FAQs
No! Filling out the interest form is a way for our ministry leaders to connect with you in order that you can learn more about the role in which you are expressing interest. We actually don't necessarily want you to serve every week! Ideally, we would love to see people serve once a month in a ministry area. There are some ministries (e.g. MissionStudents) in which it is asked that you serve on a weekly basis in order to build relationship and maintain consistency, but most teams ask for a once a month serving commitment.
Yes! We appreciate people who role up their sleeves in support of the mission and vision of the church and help to get things done. We will regularly follow-up with you to ensure you're able to maintain serving in multiple roles while also maintaining balance in your personal life.
Jesus was the first person to introduce servant-leadership. In just one example in the New Testament, we observe the anointed King, the eternal Son of God, the blessed Lord washing the feet of His disciples – a task that was reserved for the lowest of the low. In this story Jesus gives us a humble example of servant-leadership to follow. As followers of Jesus, we believe serving is one of the main ways in which we can help others meet, know, and follow Jesus. The church community is a spiritual family and families serve one another in accomplishing a mission and vision. Without people willing to serve one another, the church would cease to exist.
